民主行动党秘书长兼峇眼区国会议员林冠英于2016年4月7日于吉隆坡发表声明： 我们促请马华和民政党交代，是否在昨天内阁会议阐明独中统考符合国情，没有违反国家主权的立场。国阵有没有在昨天内阁会议讨论承认统考文凭以及结果如何？马华和民政党在内阁会议里睡觉、还是协商后“点头”同意不承认统考文凭？ 如果马华和民政党在内阁里没有提到承认独中统考事项，却通过媒体大大声喊话，那也只是讲一套，做一套的帮凶而已。这些部长应该向华社道歉，他们在统考文凭课题上虎头蛇尾，在外面像英雄，在内阁里却像狗熊。我们对于他们无法叫卡马拉纳登撤回关于“统考涉及国家主权”的言论感到遗憾。如果两位马华部长连叫国大党副部长道歉都做不到，要他们怎样面对巫统呢？现在，他们应该明白，为什么华社对马华如此失望，因为他们支持腐败的巫统，为了官职连尊严都不要。

民主行动党秘书长兼峇眼区国会议员林冠英于2016年4月1日于吉隆坡发表声明： 廖中莱今天要求教育部副部长卡马拉纳登撤会“承认统考文凭涉及国家主权”的国会作答，他又在自讲自爽。卡马拉纳登于3月29日在国会指出，联邦政府不承认统考其中一个理由是因为“承认统考文凭涉及国家主权”。他指出，内阁于2015年11月6日有关政府并不会承认统考文凭的议决案后。 卡马拉纳登的国会回答也揭穿首相署魏家祥在2015年11月18日声称内阁答应重启商讨承认统考文凭的谎言。现在，全国独中董事会、校长、老师、统考生有权利知道，国阵政府是如何看待他们在这个国家的地位和权利？
