Economic Measures Focusing On Tourism, Housing Construction and Public Infrastructure Works, Investment In Manufacturing And Services Will Be Adopted To Counter The Nearly 20% Drop In Business Turnover Due To Implementation Of GST And 28% Depreciation In The Ringgit Due To RM42 Billion 1MDB Scandal.(e/c)

Penang State Government Merdeka Day Message By Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng In Komtar, George Town On 31.8.2015.

Malaysians celebrate a bleak Merdeka following plunging confidence in Malaysia’s economy, public integrity and political accountability that has led to an economic and political crisis. Penang is no exception and this is reflected in the performance of the ringgit, which has dropped by 28% over the past year to over 4.2 to 1 US dollar. This effectively means that Malaysians are poorer by 28% in US dollar terms.

Penang has paid the price by dropping back to middle-income status when we are supposed to graduate to high-income economy this year. The World Economic Forum Human Capital Report defined a high-income economy as one whose Gross Domestic Product or GDP per capita reaches USD$12,467 or RM 40,841 based on the exchange rate of RM3.27 for USD$1.

Merdeka Membolehkan Rakyat Malaysia Dibebaskan Daripada Penjajah Dan Semangat Merdeka Hanya Boleh Terus Hidup Bila Kita Berani Berjuang Untuk Membebaskan Malaysia Daripada Fitnah, Rasuah dan Kemiskinan.(m/c)

Kenyataan DAP Sempena Hari Merdeka Ke-58 Oleh Setiausaha-Agung DAP Dan Ahli Parlimen Bagan Lim Guan Eng Di Kuala Lumpur Pada 30 Ogos 2015.

Federal Government Unreasonable And Bullying The Penang State Government Because Of The Bersih Rallies By Banning Their Own 1980s BN Government’s Theme Of “Bersih, Cekap, Amanah” When There Were No Problems With The Penang State Government Choosing Our Own Themes Every Year Since 2010.(e/m/c)

Press Statement By Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng In Komtar, George Town On 23.8.2015.

Both new Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzhir Khalid and his deputy Senator Datuk Chong Sin Woon must be rapped for reversing former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s education policies immediately upon assuming their new posts. First, Mahdzhir Khalid reiterated that the directive banning Penang schools from participating in the 58th Merdeka Day celebrations organised by the state government remains.

Madhzhir has continued the reversal of Tan Sri Muhyiddin’s education policies when he said that the Malaysian Examination Board (MEB) delayed the implementation of a mandatory pass in English in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) as the teachers and students were unprepared. The Education Ministry had postponed the mandatory pass in English in SPM, which was scheduled to be in force from next year, which was adopted by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in 2013. By de-emphasizing the importance of English, will only further erode the competitiveness of Malaysia’s economy in a global trading environment where English is the international lingua franca of commerce. Kerajaan Negeri dengan berat hati menarik balik tema “Bersih, Cekap, Amanah” untuk Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan 2015 Peringkat Negeri Pulau Pinang.

KENYATAAN MEDIA KERAJAAN NEGERI PULAU PINANG

Penghormatan Diraja oleh Angkatan Tentera Malaysia Kepada TYT Yang Di Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang Adalah Satu Kewajipan Tradisi Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan

Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang mengambil maklum perkembangan terkini melibatkan isu penyertaan beberapa agensi Kerajaan Pusat di Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan 2015 peringkat negeri Pulau Pinang.

DAP Akan Buat Laporan Polis Mendesak Tindakan Ke atas Timbalan Menteri Pengangkutan Datuk Ab Aziz Kaprawi Yang Sudah Hilang Akal Membuat Fitnah Jahat Dan Janggal Bahawa DAP Dibiayai Yahudi.

Kenyataan Akhbar Setiausaha-Agung DAP Dan Ahli Parlimen Bagan Lim Guan Eng Di Kuala Lumpur Pada 23 Ogos 2015.

UMNO hilang akal dan bersikap “desperado” bila pemimpinnya seperti Ketua Bahagian UMNO Sri Gading Datuk Ab. Aziz Kaprawi dengan membuat fitnah jahat dan janggal bahawa DAP dibiayai Yahudi semata-mata nak menutup skendal kewangan RM 42 bilion 1MDB dan skendal derma politik RM2.6 bilion dimasukkan dalam akaun persendirian Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib menjelang pilihan raya umum ke-13 pada 2013. Maka Tan Sri Muhyiddin dipecat kerana tidak tahu tentang derma politik RM2.6 bilion dan dipecat kerana menyuarakannya.

The Malaysian Political Situation and What the Future Holds :- The 1MDB RM 42 Billion Financial Scandal And RM2.6 Billion Political Donation Scandal Is A Litmus Test Of Malaysia Becoming Either A Rogue State Or Emerging As A Functional Democratic And Developed Nation.(e/c)

Speech By Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng At The Asia Society Hong Kong Centre In Hong Kong On 21.8.2015.

I speak to you amidst a time of crisis in Malaysia both political and economic. Of late, we have been regularly grabbing headlines in the top broadsheets all over the world – the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Telegraph and news sites in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, they are all for the wrong reasons.

As much as I would like to help you make sense of recent developments in Malaysia, I myself struggle to come to terms with the fact that we may have sunk to the lowest depths in our nation’s history since the bloody 1969 May 13 riots as evidenced by declining economic growth, rising inflation and the depreciation of our RM plunging to its lowest levels in history. How to rebut those who can shamelessly justify national leaders holding public office having RM2.6 billion in your personal account even if it is meant for UMNO? Penang’s Hopes Of Achieving High-Income Status Of RM40,841 Or USD$12,467 GDP Per Capita By 2015 Crushed By The 20% Drop In Ringgit To US Dollars From RM 3.27 To RM 3.95.(e/c)

Press Statement By Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng In George Town, Penang On 11.8.2015.

The World Economic Forum Human Capital Report defined a high-income economy as one whose Gross Domestic Product or GDP per capita reaches USD$12,467 or RM 40,841 based on the exchange rate of RM3.27 for USD$1. Unfortunately the present precipitous drop in the ringgit today to RM3.95 to USD$1 means that our wealth has diminished by at least 20%.

Penang’s hopes of achieving high-income status of RM40,841 or USD$ 12,467 GDP Per Capita by 2015 crushed by the 20% drop in Ringgit to US Dollars from RM 3.27 to RM 3.95. Instead of RM40,841 as the benchmark to achieve high-income status, the 20% drop in the ringgit means that the benchmark has been increased to RM49,245.
