The Home Ministry’s 3-months suspension of The Edge Weekly and The Edge Financial Daily for exposing the RM42 Billion 1MDB financial scandal signals that ‎Malaysia is moving back to the dark ages of oppression, corruption and entitlement instead of looking towards a brighter tomorrow of freedom, transparency and accountability. Not just human rights and media activists have condemned such draconian measures, even former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, prominent businessman like Air Asia boss, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, and CIMB Chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak, the brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, have condemned such suspension.

EXCO memutuskan untuk memanggil diri sebagai kerajaan negeri Pulau Pinang dan bukan lagi kerajaan negeri PR Pulau Pinang.(e/c)

Kenyataan Akhbar Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang Lim Guan Eng Di Komtar, George Town Pada 2.7.2015.

Mesyuarat Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri(EXCO) Pulau Pinang pada 1 Julai 2015, yang juga dihadiri oleh YB Dr Afif Bahardin, secara sebulat suara mengulangi 3 ketetapan berikut:-
· menentang dan tidak bersetuju dengan usul Muktamar PAS memutuskan hubungan dengan DAP;
· menerima bahawa PR sudah tidak wujud lagi berikutan usul Muktamar PAS tersebut; serta
· meneruskan dan mengekalkan urus tadbir kerajaan negeri Pulau Pinang seperti biasa berdasarkan Dasar Bersama PR yang digubal pada 2009 dan Manifesto Pulau Pinang Pilihanraya Besar 2013 yang memperolehi mandat terbesar dalam sejarah pilihanraya Pulau Pinang sebanyak 68% .
