Press Statement By Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng In Komtar, George Town On 30.11.2014.
Police reports will be lodged against Penang UMNO leaders like UMNO Permatang Pauh Division Chairman Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said, for criminal defamation and seditious lies made with malicious intent to incite racial hatred, including lies that the political and economic strength of the Chinese in Penang comes from illegal economic activities such as illegal gambling, prostitution and entertainment outlets. The Penang state government is under no illusions that any action will be taken by the Federal government against UMNO leaders.
Despite the likelihood that no action will be taken, police reports must be lodged for the record to defend the dignity and honour of the people of Penang, including the Chinese community who are being taunted by such humiliation. Everyone in Penang can succeed whether Chinese, Malay or Indian, if they are honest and work hard. To accuse the Chinese who have succeeded as being engaged in illegal activity is an insult and contempt towards those who are clean, honest and hard-working.

If The Prime Minister Can Blithely Break His Thrice-Repeated Promise To Repeal The Sedition Act Without Consulting The Cabinet, Can He Be Trusted To Keep His Promises To Fight Corruption, Reduce Debts And Income Inequality As Well As Not Close Down Chinese And Tamil Schools When MCA, MIC, Gerakan, SUPP And PBS Are Political Parasites That Are Stooges And Sycophants Of UMNO?
If Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak can blithely break his thrice-repeated promise to repeal the Sedition Act without consulting the Cabinet, can he be trusted to keep his promises to fight corruption, reduce debts and income inequality as well as not close down Chinese and Tamil schools when MCA, MIC, Gerakan, SUPP and PBS are political parasites that are stooges and sycophants of UMNO? In announcing that the Sedition Act would not be repealed but instead strengthened, Najib said that he arrived at his decision after consulting UMNO leaders, UMNO supporters and NGOs.
MIC Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam had confirmed the non-Malay BN component parties’ status as political parasites that are UMNO’s stooges and sycophants when he admitted that neither MIC nor Cabinet was consulted prior to Najib’s unilateral announcement. Despite this humiliation by Najib, or MCA and Gerakan’s earlier call to abolish the Sedition Act, we can expect both MCA and Gerakan leaders to obediently support and comply with UMNO to impose even harsher restrictions in the Sedition Act.

Penang UMNO’s grievous insults, outrageous slurs and lies that the political and economic strength of the Chinese in Penang comes from illegal economic activities such as illegal is also directed at Penang Police who had openly denied such activities. Penang UMNO Permatang Pauh Division Chairman Datuk Mohd Zaid Mohd Said said such illegal activities flourished because the Malays are mild-mannered and the relevant authorities are turning a blind eye to them. This is not only irresponsible but wrong.
This contradicts the repeated assertions by Penang Chief Police Officer Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi that there are no such illegal activities in Penang. As late as the end of last month, Datuk Abdul Rahim said that the police had conducted raids on the gambling dens adding that, “For the record, Penang has zero illegal gambling machines.” .

The UMNO General Assembly should stop manufacturing lies to foment religious and racial hatred against non-Malays and non-Muslims but focus instead on the economic distress suffered by Malaysians and debate how a young Malaysian Jho Low became so wealthy, until he can donate US$25 million to the United Nations. Reuters reported that Jho Low, a Hong Kong-based philanthropist will be granting a US$25 million (RM83.7 million) 15-year investment to allow the United Nations (UN) to spin off its humanitarian news service Integrated Regional Information Networks (Irin) as an independent Swiss-based foundation.
How come no questions were raised about how a wealthy Malaysian is not giving the same attention to do charity in his own country? Is the loud silence by UMNO General Assembly related to impressions that Jho Low is untouchable due to his close links with top UMNO personalities as well as with the controversial 1MDB?

Press Statement By DAP Secretary-General And MP For Bagan Lim Guan Eng In Kuala Lumpur On 24.11.2014.
The Prime Minister’s promises of not abolishing Chinese primary schools as demanded by UMNO leaders will only be credible if these UMNO leaders are charged for sedition as done in the past and the Prime Minister fulfills his thrice repeated promise to abolish the Sedition Act 1948. Whilst DAP opposes the Sedition Act that violates fundamental human rights and freedom of expression, the failure to implement the sedition laws fairly and impartially proves that the Sedition Act is being exploited as a political weapon against opposition leaders, academics who question BN policies and dissenters.
So long as the Sedition Act exists in the statute books, it must be enforced fairly and impartially without fear or favour. In the 1970s BN leaders who called for the abolition of Chinese primary schools were immediately charged under the Sedition Act. Even a Sabah MP Mark Koding was stripped of all his privileges and benefits as an MP after he was convicted for sedition for calling for the abolition of Chinese schools in 1978.

Opening Speech By Penang Chief Minister And DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng In The DAP Penang State Annual Convention In Bukit Mertajam On 23.11.2014
The DAP intends to showcase the PR Penang state government as a model of good governance because we believe in the ideal of a government as good as its people – especially those who are honest and hardworking. The attributes of Penangites as honest and diligent are reflected in a Penang state government that is clean, efficient and effective. Indeed, the commendation accorded on Penang in the annual Auditor-General Reports and even by Transparency International, proves that a clean government can do better than a corrupt administration.
DAP has proven that we are an effective opposition party that is a fearless voice and defender of the rakyat but that our record in Penang, shows we can also govern within PR much better than BN. Since we took over on 8 March 2008, we have recorded annual surpluses every year and surpluses from 2008-2013 amounts to RM453 million, reduced our state debts by 90% and increased our reserves by more than 50% or RM500 million to RM1.3 billion

DAP will stand solidly behind DAP National Publicity Secretary, Selangor DAP Chair and Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua against the defamation suit filed against him by Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Abdul Razak pertaining to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) controversy. DAP National Legal Bureau Chairman and MP for Puchong will be tasked with assembling a panel of top legal practitioners to defend Tony Pua.
This is a historic case as this is the first time in Malaysian history that a Prime Minister is filing a legal suit against an opposition lawmaker. Clearly this will not be a routine defamation action relating to the personal standing of the Prime Minister but also possesses far reaching consequences for the political implications.
Even though the Prime Minister has only issued a notice of demand to Tony Pua, the Prime Minister clearly
had already made up his mind to go all the way and sue. As such, DAP does not wish to make further comments on the proposed legal suit by the Prime Minister but to let the courts decide. Continue reading ‘Whilst The Defamation Suit By The Prime Minister Against Tony Pua Is Personal And Private, The Management Decisions Taken By 1MDB And The Finance Ministry Is Public And Of National Interest, Should Not Stifle Public Discourse And Choke Off Any Media Coverage On 1MDB When It Involves RM41.9 Billion In Debt And RM 49 Billion In Total Liabilities.’

The Penang State Government Will Be Seeking A Meeting With 1MDB For Full Accountability Of Its Plans For 234 Acres Land In Air Itam Purchased For RM1.38 Billion As Well As The RM 41.9 Billion Loans Incurred That Increased Its Financing Costs To RM 2.4 Billion From RM 1.6 Billion That Caused Losses Of RM 665.3 Million For The Financial Year 31 March 2014.
The Penang state government will be seeking a meeting with 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) for full accountability of its plans for 234 acres land in Air Itam purchased for RM 1.38 billion as well as the RM 41.9 billion loans incurred that increased its financing costs to RM 2.4 billion from RM 1.6 billion that caused losses of RM 665.3 million for the financial year 31 March 2014. Even though 1MDB chairman Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin had a media briefing session yesterday, he left questions unanswered on the extent of Federal government liability, including the letter of support given by the Federal government for a US$ 3 billion loan issue, and also for other loans taken by 1MDB.

PAS Misses The Simple Truth That The DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) Unanimous Resolution For PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang To Attend PR Leadership Council Meetings Is To Restore Public Trust And Confidence In PR That All 3 Component Parties Keeps Its Promises And Fulfill Its Commitments.
Since DAP publicly urged PAS President Hadi Awang to be present at all Pakatan Rakyat Leadership Council meetings, PAS leaders have responded negatively. Clearly, PAS misses the simple truth that the DAP Central Executive Committee’s (CEC) unanimous resolution for PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang to attend PR Leadership Council Meetings is to restore public trust and confidence in PR, that all 3 component parties keeps its promises and fulfill its commitments.

PERSIDANGAN DEWAN UNDANGAN NEGERI PULAU PINANG
MESYUARAT KEDUA PENGGAL KEDUA
DEWAN UNDANGAN NEGERI KETIGA BELAS
Yang Berhormat Dato’ Yang di-Pertua Dewan
Ahli-ahli Yang Berhormat

· At the forthcoming DAP National Conference on Sunday 14 December 2014 at One City Convention Hall, USJ, Selangor, the CEC will submit various proposals to amend the Party Constitution including a historic quota of 30% of the elected CEC posts to be reserved for women. This is a concerted effort by DAP to encourage more women to join the DAP and demonstrates our commitment to increase the pool of women leaders in Malaysia, especially the participation of young female leaders.

Hormat DAP Kepada PAS Dan Presidennya Punca DAP Minta Datuk Seri Hadi Awang Wajib Hadiri Mesyuarat Majlis Pimpinan Tertinggi PR Agar PR Boleh Tunaikan Janji Dan Penuhkan Komitmen, Kerana Hanya Beliau Ialah Pemimpin Tunggal Yang Boleh Putuskan Segala-galanya Bagi Pihak PAS.
