槟州政府欢迎迟到了一年半的2016年度国民型华文中学特别拨款，但是，对于联邦政府只拨195万令吉给州内的12所华文中学感到失望不已。

槟州首席部长林冠英于2017年8月1日在光大乔治市发表文告: 槟州政府于2017年除了拨出122万8000令吉的制度化拨款，还另加85万令吉的首长特别拨款，单单这一年，州内的华中就已获得207万8000令吉的拨款。 然而，预算案是州政府270倍的联邦政府却只能拨给州内华中195万令吉，数额还少过州政府，这真的说不过去！
