槟州首席部长林冠英於2015年11月25日在吉隆坡发表文告 首相署部长拿督魏家祥日前才言之凿凿地说，马华并没有如反对党指的在“欺骗华社”，内阁答应重启商讨承认统考事宜，自诩当家又当权，给人民希望。另一边厢，高教部副部长拿督叶娟呈却在昨天的国会上坚称，联邦政府在国立大学收生资格的立场维持不变，即统考毕业生不能进入国立大专（IPTA），语锋并无婉转余地。 两个部长在“承认统考”一事上各自表述，毕竟叶娟呈是副高教部长，她的言论叫堂堂一个首相署部长魏家祥情何以堪，如何向华社交代。 统考资格广获世界多所知名大学的承认，许多国家包括新加坡甚至以优渥的奖学金来吸引最优秀的统考生到该国深造，显然的，政府承认与否，问题根本不在学术，而是政治。承认统考是华社数十年来的诉求，马华及魏家祥若有诚意，应该具体地将承认统考的时程表清清楚楚地告知民众，不要永无止境地对话再对话，最后依然不了了之。
