Opening Speech By DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng During The 2013 Perak State Ordinary Convention In Bukit Merah On 8.12.2013.
If The Prime Minister Is Sincere In His Admiration Of Nelson Mandela, He Should Abandon Racial Domination And Discrimination And Fight For A Democratic, Free Society That Guarantees Equal Opportunities For All.
I wish to congratulate all Perak DAP leaders and members under the leadership of Sdr Ngeh Koo Ham for your hard work and unity in helping DAP achieve a great victory in the 2013 general elections by recording a 100% victory with an additional parliamentary seat of Kampar and helping PR increase its popular vote to 55%. On behalf of DAP, we humbly thank Perak voters for your increased support.
If the general elections were clean and fair as well as respect the democratic principle of “one-man,one-vote,one-value”, with 55% of the votes PR would have been the state government and Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaludin would be returned as the rightful Perak Menteri Besar. However BN cheated in the general elections by gerrymandering the constituency to favour BN.

Electricity Tariff Hike Hurting Ordinary Malaysians and Small Businesses
Energy, Green Technology and Water (KETTHA) Minister Dato’ Seri Maximus Ongkili announced yesterday that come January 1st 2014, electricity tariff will increase for all categories of consumers (domestic, commercial and industrial ) in Peninsula Malaysia, Federal Territories of Labuan and Sabah.
The tariff hike is a New Year gift for all Malaysians by the government due to its purported subsidies rationalisation programme. According to the Minister, the objective is to move towards a market-based mechanism in gas pricing.
I think the tariff hike is untimely and unjustifiable.

Destruction of Ancient Hindu Temple, Bujang Valley, Kedah
Malaysians are shocked that an ancient Hindu temple (Candi) belonging to the Sri Vijaya era, about 1200 years, was demolished by a developer to make way for a housing project in Sungei Batu area of Kedah.
Candi No. 11 in Sungei Batu area of the Bujang Valley was one of the temples rebuilt in the 1970s using materials from the pre-historic era. Hidden in the midst of a small oilpalm estate, the developer demolished the Candi before mowing down the trees for a housing project.

2 December 2013 @ Equatorial Hotel
Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
It is a pleasure to be here tonight to join you all to celebrate the Texchem Group’s 40th Anniversary. Anniversaries and birthdays are always good times for reflection, for friends and associates to get together and look back at the good times and the difficult times that have been shared.
Reaching 40 years is a tremendous milestone for the Texchem Group and is something to be rightfully proud of. The transformation of the Texchem Group from its early days as a dyestuff trader into a diversified multinational is an inspirational story of one man’s vision and determination. The one man is none other than Tan Sri (Dr) Konishi himself.

Keeping The Malaysian Dream Alive By Making Penang No.1 In Malaysia.
I wish to congratulate all Penang DAP leaders and members under the leadership of Sdr Chow Kon Yeow for your hard work and unity in helping PR achieve a great victory in the 2013 general elections with an additional state seat by winning 30 out of 40 state seats and an increased popular vote of 68%, the highest in the country. DAP obtained increased support from all Penangites, including Malays. Despite BN’s politics of racial and religious hatred, PAS leader Dr Zulkifli Ahmad cited Penang as one of the two states that PR won an increased Malay support(2%), the other being Terengganu(4%).
On behalf of PR and DAP, we humbly thank Penang voters for their confidence by helping us to retain power in Penang. With power comes responsibility.
