Chua Soi Lek And Koh Tsu Koon Must Explain Penang MCA and Gerakan’s Support For Utusan Malaysia By Condemning Me For a Joking Reference That Sinar Harian Is Preferred Over Utusan Malaysia As The Latter Is Racist And Against Non-Muslim and Non-Malays.

MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and Gerakan President Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon must explain Penang MCA and Gerakan’s support for Utusan Malaysia by condemning me for a joking reference I made, during the presentation of Penang PR state government’s annual allocations for Chinese and mission schools, that Sinar Harian is preferred over Utusan Malaysia as the latter is racist and against non-Muslims and non-Malays.

The state government wishes to thank key industry players in Penang for taking the necessary steps to address the earthquake off Sumatera island yesterday. The Chief Minister’s Office and the state government have kept in touch with Penang’s key industry players from the FMM, Frepenca and Penang Hoteliers Association during the incident.

The state government wishes to add that the general public should emulate the experience of these industry players by keeping in touch on the latest development of the earthquake through official sources and not to listen to rumors. I had cancelled my attendance at the Royal Banquet at Istana Malaysia honoring the coronation of the Yang Dipertuan Agong to rush back to Penang.

Chua Soi Lek Should Prove MCA’s Commitment To Respecting The Decision Of A Majority Of Malaysians (en/bm/cn)

Press Statement By DAP Secretary-General And MP For Bagan Lim Guan Eng In Kuala Lumpur On 6.4.2012.

Chua Soi Lek Should Prove MCA’s Commitment To Respecting The Decision Of A Majority Of Malaysians Wanting To Close Down The Lynas Rare Earth Plant Near Kuantan, By Withdrawing From BN And Not Rejoining BN Until UMNO Cancels This RM2.3 Billion Rare Earth Processing Project.

The sudden flip-flop by MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek or MCA’s about-turn from supporting the Lynas rare earth processing plant to demanding that the plant be scrapped, not only highlights MCA’s inconsistency and lack of principle but also questions MCA sincerity and credibility. Ordinary Malaysians have no faith whatseover in MCA President Chua Soi Lek’s public call for the Lynas plant to be scrapped and regard this as a clever general election ploy to hoodwink the voters.

DAP supports the joint Bersih and Himpunan Hijau 3.0 sit-down protest rally at Dataran Merdeka On 2pm 28 April 2012 as a democratic expression of Malaysians’ demand for clean and fair elections as well as a safe and healthy Malaysia free from radioactive contamination.

DAP supports the 3 key demands by the Bersih 3.0 organisers:-

•The Election Commission (EC) must resign;

•The electoral process must be cleaned up before the next general election due to the failure of the Parliamentary Select Committee(PSC) on Electoral Reform to address critical issues such as audit of the electoral roll was incomplete, forss abuses related to postal voting, election offences, failure to act against money politics, no free and full access to the print and broadcasting media and no measures to end dirty politics.; and

The Penang PR State Government Shall Expose UMNO Penang As A Racist Party That Clearly Does Not Want Non-Muslim Votes By Only Questioning Why Mosques Land Has Disappeared But Not Concerned Whether Non-Muslim Land Have Also Disappeared From The Bayan Mutiara Project.(en/bm/cn)

The Penang PR state government shall expose UMNO Penang as a racist party that clearly does not want non-Muslim votes in the next general elections, by only questioning why mosque land has disappeared but not non-Muslim land in the Bayan Mutiara project. UMNO Penang has stoked fires of religious hatred against me as a non-Muslim leader by spreading dangerous lies that I have sold or caused mosque and school land to disappear when 102.6 acres of Bayan Mutiara land was sold by open competitive tender to Ivory Property Group Bhd(Ivory).

When the 102.6 acres of Bayan Mutiara land was sold by open tender, there was no sub-division of title but the entire piece of land is to be sold. BN had not made any sub-division of title on the land when they were in power. Ivory will only do sub-division of title after submission of new plans to MPPP and the Land Office for approval. The new plans and sub-division of title has not even been submitted by Ivory to the relevant authorities, how can UMNO claim that the mosque or school land has been sold or disappeared?

The World Economic Report’s Global Competitiveness Index 2011-2012 Actually Contradicts Tan Sri Muhydin Wild Boasts And In Fact Confirms That The Education System In United States, United Kingdom and Germany Is Still Better Than Malaysia.(en/cn)

Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, was quoted as saying that according to the World Economic Report’s Global Competitiveness Index 2011-2012(Report), our children received a better quality of education than the children in the United States, Germany and United Kingdom. This is a grossly inaccurate statement designed purely for political propaganda that would only diminish the prestigious position of a Deputy Prime Minister.

Not only is Tan Sri Muhyidin is in a state of denial by covering up the significant challenges, weaknesses and even defects in the Malaysian education system, he has made Malaysia an international laughing stock by claiming to be better than US, UK and Germany. If so, Tan Sri Muhyidin should answer why there is not a single Nobel Prize winner who is a Malaysian and neither is there a single Malaysian university amongst the Top 200 Universities in the world? Or when given the choice, why more Malaysian students want to study in US, UK and Germany than in Malaysian universities?
