Penang Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng will lead a trade delegation of state officials to visit Bahrain on 7th till 9th November 2009. This delegation will attend the 2nd Annual Urban Waterfronts Conference as well as to explore investment opportunities in Bahrain.
During the visit to Bahrain, the Chief Minister will deliver a talk on 8th November 2009 on “Waterfront Development in Penang:-Its Potential and Challenges.” The conference will be attended by 300 participants from Australia, United States, Bahrain, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Abu Dhabi where major waterfront development is taking place. The Chief Minister will also have meetings with the CEO of Unicorn Bank, Bahrain Economic Development Board and Bahrain Mumtalakat Holdings
The delegation will then visit Tehran from 9th till 13th November 2009. The Chief Minister with the state officials will meet various Iranian ministerial agencies to explore investment opportunities in Iran. The purpose of the visit is to also to explore tourism opportunities and build cordial relationship between both countries.
Lim will be accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister II, YB Prof.Dr. P.Ramasamy, YB Abdul Malik, YB Tanasekharan, Executive Chairman of InvestPenang – Dato Lee Kah Choon, General Manager of InvestPenang – Puan Wan Zailena, Director of Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang and Manager of Halal Penang – Mohammad Mukmin.
