UMNO Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor should fully withdraw and apologise to the Christian community in Malaysia for his wrong example that churches are a centre of fake news to spread untruths in their sermons. Tengku Adnan later clarified that he only referred to churches as an example, because his message is to all houses of worship including mosques, suraus, and temples.
In the interests of religious harmony and mutual respect amongst different faiths, it is wrong to single out churches even though he is using this as an example. This would only lend a negative impression of churches especially when all places of religious worship are dedicated towards disseminating truth about their religion and not untruths or fake news.
The Council of Churches of Malaysia(CCM) has expressed shock at such unfounded remarks by Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, which calls into question the spiritual integrity of the church. CCM considered it an affront to the church for Tengku Adnan to insinuate that the religious duty in preaching during worship services are ‘lies’ because it is critical of societal issues.
No religion should be singled out even as an example because it will only create mistrust and ill-will towards Christianity, especially with past false and baseless reports of Christian churches converting Muslims. That is why it is important for Tengku Adnan to withdraw and apologise for his unfortunate choice of using churches as an example, to demonstrate his respect for freedom of religion.
Malaysians should celebrate diversity by also celebrating the contributions of Malaysian religious communities in helping to make the nation what it is today by promoting justice, peace and harmony.

巫统部长东姑阿德南东姑曼苏应该撤回言论，并向马来西亚的基督教社群道歉，他错误举例说基督教会是通过传道散播假消息的场所。姑南后来澄清说，他只是引述基督教堂做例子，因为他其实是指所有的宗教膜拜场所，包括回教堂、祈祷堂及庙宇等 。
在宗教和谐及各信仰相互尊重的基础上，就算他只是举例，但是仅以基督教堂为例子也是不对的。这只会让人们对基督教堂产生错误的印象，特别是当所有的宗教膜拜场所都致力于传播各自宗教教义，而不是假消息。
马来西亚基督教协进会对姑南的言论表示震惊，这似乎质疑基督教堂的精神诚信。马来西亚基督教协进会视之为对基督教堂的侮辱，姑南不应该暗指他们在布道的时候散布谎言，因为这是严重的社会问题。
没有任何宗教应该被孤立出来成为单一的例子，这样做只会让人产生对基督教的不信任及敌意，特别是之前已经盛传关于基督教堂为穆斯林改教那种毫无根据假消息。这也是为什么姑南必须撤回言论，并且对他仅仅以基督教堂为例子的做法道歉，才能展现他尊重宗教自由。
马来西亚人应该欢庆多元化，也欢庆马来西亚各宗教社群在协助促进公义、和平及和谐的国家所做的贡献。
