Press Statement By DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng In Kuala Lumpur On 8.12.2013.
I wish to apologise to DAP members and supporters in Muar for not attending the opening of the community and service center of Bakri Member of Parliament Er Teck Hua and Bentayan ADUN Vincent Chua yesterday evening.
I also wish to apologise to members of the public in Muar who has steadfastly supported DAP by purchasing tickets for our fundraising dinner yesterday night. DAP’s victory in both Bakri and Bentayan against difficult odds is a testimony to the support of the courageous and righteous people of Muar from all races for the DAP’s battle for a Malaysian Malaysia that is free, fair, democratic, peaceful, integrity and prosperous.
I could not attend 2 functions in Muar last night, which I had earlier promised to come because I was ill. I had felt a numbness in my right toe for a few weeks and both my physiotherapist and orthopaedic consultant has linked it to a spinal problem. I am receiving treatment and had to rest yesterday.

我在此针对无法出席峇吉里区国会议员余德华及文打烟区州议员蔡伟明社区及服务中心开幕礼，向麻坡全体党员及支持者致万二分歉意。
对于那些坚定支持行动党、为行动党筹款晚宴购票的麻坡支持者，我也感到抱歉。行动党在大选期间，在峇吉里及文打烟的背水战中取得胜利，证明了勇敢和正直的麻坡人民不分种族地展现了他们对行动党“马来西亚人的马来西亚”的支持，以及对一个自由、平等、民主、和平、廉正及昌盛马来西亚的支持。
昨晚，我因生病而无法出席麻坡的两场活动，我的右脚趾失去知觉几个星期，我的理疗师和骨科医生诊断后认为是脊骨所导致的问题。我正在接受治疗，不得不在昨天休息。
