Press Statement By DAP Secretary-General And MP For Bagan Lim Guan Eng In Kuala Lumpur On 25.4.2014.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s declaration that the BN government had never rejected hudud and had even lauded the proposal made to implement hudud law in the country clearly exposes the lies, hypocrisy and double-standards of MCA. On the one hand, MCA criticises DAP for being responsible for PAS wanting to implement hudud, yet on the other hand MCA dares not criticise UMNO for lauding proposals to implement hudud.
DAP does not support and will vote against any motion or private member bill in Parliament whether from PAS or UMNO, that seeks the implementation of the hudud law, because it is unconstitutional. In contrast, MCA had obediently supported all laws proposed by UMNO without taking into account the views of non-Muslims.
The latest case-study of blind obedience by MCA is the ban by the Pahang Islamic and Malay Customs Council’s (Muip) of non-Muslim religious materials in hotels in Pahang. A letter of prohibition by Muip had been sent to 147 hotels across the state since 6 March 2014, and those who defied the directive could be subjected to legal action for spreading other religious beliefs to Muslims with a fine up to RM5,000 or jailed for up to two years, or both.
As the MP for Bentong in Pahang, MCA President Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has kept a strange silence. If MUIP considers putting non-Muslim religious materials in hotel rooms equivalent to spreading religious beliefs to guests who may be Muslims, then would the next step be blocking and censoring the Internet to ensure that no one can download non-Muslim religious publications?
Datuk Seri Liow has kept the same strange silence on UMNO Kelantan ADUNs and Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapha Mohamad’s open and strong support for implementing the hudud law in Kelantan. Liow should answer “Why is he attacking DAP when DAP had openly opposed PAS’ proposed implementation of the hudud law in Kelantan for Muslims but yet dare not attack UMNO for supporting the implementation of the same hudud law?”.
No amount of signing ceremonies with certain Chinese organisations to oppose hudud can hide the fact that MCA just dare not stand up when it counts, in Parliament and Cabinet to say no and vote against UMNO.

在行动党公开反对伊斯兰党在吉兰丹穆斯林社群推行伊斯兰刑事法，为什么廖中莱攻击行动党，但是他却不敢攻击同样支持推行伊斯兰刑事法的巫统？
首相拿督斯里纳吉宣布国阵政府从来没有拒绝伊斯兰刑事法，甚至赞扬在国内推行伊斯兰刑事法的建议，很明显地揭穿了马华的谎言、虚伪及双重标准。一方面，马华批评行动党要对伊斯兰党推行伊斯兰刑事法负起责任，而另一方面马华却不敢批评巫统赞扬推行伊斯兰刑事法的建议。
行动党不支持，也不会在国会投票表决任何来自伊斯兰党或巫统议员关于推行伊斯兰刑事法的动议或私人法案，因为那是违反宪法的。相反的，马华曾经顺从地支持所有巫统提议的法案，不考虑非穆斯林的意见。
马华最近盲从支持的案例还包括彭亨州伊斯兰及马来习俗理事会（Muip）禁止州内酒店摆放非穆斯林宗教刊物的做法。上述理事会在2014年3月6日对州内147家酒店发出禁令，那些违抗指令的业者将在向穆斯林宣导其它宗教教义的情况下被对付，最高法款5000令吉或监禁两年或两者兼施。
至于文冬区国会议员兼马华总会长拿督斯里廖中莱也出奇地沉默。如果彭亨州伊斯兰及马来习俗理事会可以把在酒店摆放非穆斯林宗教刊物的做法相等于向穆斯林住客宣导宗教教义，那么接下来是不是将进行网络审查及封锁，以确保没有人能够从网上下载非穆斯林的宗教刊物？
拿督斯里廖中莱也针对巫统吉兰丹州议员及贸易及工业部长拿督斯里慕斯达法公开及强力的支持在吉兰丹推行伊斯兰刑事法没有表态。廖中莱应该回答：“为什么廖中莱攻击行动党，但是他却不敢攻击同样支持推行伊斯兰刑事法的巫统？”
无论有多少华团组织签名反对伊斯兰刑事法，都无法掩饰一个事实，那就是马华在需要表达立场的时候，无论在国会或内阁，他们从没有没说“不！”、也没有拒绝过巫统。
