I have been informed by the Deputy Treasurer-General, Datuk Siti Zauyah binti Mohd Desa that among the most urgent items to be resolved in my first days of office is the payment of interest for 1MDB borrowings. This is because the amount of RM143.75 million is due to be paid by 1MDB on 30 May 2018.<\/p>\n

I have also been informed that Arul Kanda remains as the President and CEO of 1MDB until 30 June 2018. Arul Kanda has to date insisted that 1MDB is fully able to service its debt obligations. Therefore, I have given instructions for Arul Kanda to brief and clarify if 1MDB is able to pay the above sum due next week. <\/p>\n

I have also requested to meet the Directors of 1MDB, Dato\u2019 Kamal Mohd Ali and Dato\u2019 Norazman Ayob to brief the Ministry on the state of affairs in 1MDB.<\/p>\n

We are extremely concerned with regards to the above because I have been informed by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) officials that the MoF has been bailing out 1MDB\u2019s debt service obligations since April 2017.<\/p>\n

Based on the list of payments (per Appendix 1 below) by the MoF on behalf of 1MDB has amounted to RM6.98 billion. The sum includes payments made to IPIC as part of the Settlement Agreement amounting to RM5.05 billion. <\/p>\n

The above confirms the public suspicion that 1MDB had essentially deceived Malaysians by claiming that they have been paid via a \u201csuccessful rationalization exercise\u201d. All these while it has been the MoF who has bailed out 1MDB.<\/p>\n

Worse, the list of payments to date only involves interest, coupon payments and the advance from IPIC. They have yet to take into account the billions of ringgit of debt which will be due from the year 2022.<\/p>\n

I have also been informed that besides the RM143.75 million due at the end of this month, another RM810.21 million worth of interest is due between the months of September and November 2018.<\/p>\n

I have instructed the officers to study in detail the debt and liabilities of 1MDB and propose measures to resolve the crisis created by the scandal. We will also submit our findings to the 1MDB task force formed by the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

\u6211\u88ab\u544a\u77e5\uff0c\u963f\u9c81\u7518\u8fbe\u5c06\u7ee7\u7eed\u62c5\u4efb1MDB\u7684\u4e3b\u5e2d\u4e0e\u9996\u5e2d\u6267\u884c\u5458\u76f4\u81f32018\u5e746\u670830\u65e5\u3002\u963f\u9c81\u7518\u8fbe\u8fc4\u4eca\u4ecd\u575a\u79f0\uff0c1MDB\u6709\u80fd\u529b\u507f\u8fd8\u5176\u503a\u52a1\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u6211\u5df2\u4e0b\u8fbe\u6307\u793a\uff0c\u8981\u6c42\u963f\u9c81\u7518\u8fbe\u89e3\u91ca\u6e05\u695a\uff0c1MDB\u662f\u8981\u5982\u4f55\u5728\u4e0b\u4e2a\u793c\u62dc\u5230\u671f\u65e5\u524d\uff0c\u507f\u8fd8\u8fd9\u4e9b\u503a\u52a1\u5229\u606f\u3002<\/p>\n

\u53e6\u5916\uff0c\u6211\u4e5f\u8981\u6c42\u4e0e1MDB\u8463\u4e8b\u62ff\u7763\u5361\u739b\u83ab\u54c8\u9ed8\u963f\u91cc\u4ee5\u53ca\u62ff\u7763\u8bfa\u62c9\u65af\u66fc\u89c1\u9762\uff0c\u4ee5\u4fbf\u4ed6\u4eec\u53ef\u4ee5\u548c\u8d22\u653f\u90e8\u6c47\u62a51MDB\u76ee\u524d\u7684\u72b6\u51b5\u3002<\/p>\n

\u6211\u4eec\u975e\u5e38\u5173\u5fc3\u4e0a\u8ff0\u95ee\u9898\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u8d22\u653f\u90e8\u5b98\u5458\u544a\u77e5\u6211\uff0c\u8d22\u653f\u90e8\u81ea2017\u5e744\u6708\u4ee5\u6765\uff0c\u4e00\u76f4\u5728\u66ff1MDB\u507f\u503a\u3002<\/p>\n

\u6839\u636e\u8d22\u653f\u90e8\u4ee3\u88681MDB\u6240\u9700\u507f\u8fd8\u7684\u4ed8\u6b3e\u6e05\u5355\uff08\u8bf7\u53c2\u8003\u4ee5\u4e0b\u9644\u6863\uff09\uff0c\u6709\u5173\u7684\u6570\u76ee\u662f\u9ad8\u8fbe69\u4ebf8000\u4e07\u4ee4\u5409\u3002\u8fd9\u4e2a\u603b\u989d\u5305\u62ec\u9700\u4ed8\u6b3e\u7ed9\u56fd\u9645\u77f3\u6cb9\u6295\u8d44\u516c\u53f8IPIC\u4f5c\u4e3a\u548c\u89e3\u534f\u8bae\u7684\u4e00\u90e8\u5206\uff08\u517150\u4ebf5000\u4e07\u4ee4\u5409\uff09\u3002<\/p>\n
