Press Statement by the Chief Minister of Penang Lim Guan Eng in Komtar, George Town on 16 March 2017 <\/p>\n
Penang Future Foundation (\u201cPFF\u201d) started in 2015 as the Penang State Government\u2019s initiative to aid outstanding and deserving Malaysian youths to pursue tertiary studies in public\/private universities in Malaysia. With valuable contribution from the private sector and donors who recognize the importance of education and the need to retain local talents, PFF has awarded approximately 200 scholarships over the last 2 years. Selected scholars come from a diverse range of backgrounds and are enrolled in fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Accountancy and Finance. <\/p>\n
Entering its third year, PFF looks forward to provide more opportunities for Malaysians in our effort to overcome brain drain. With this aim in mind, PFF will be offering two categories of scholarship awards beginning year 2017. Under this revamped structure, prospective students may apply to be either a \u2018PFF Penang Scholar\u2019 or \u2018PFF Mutiara Scholar\u2019. <\/p>\n
Interested candidates are advised to check the eligibility requirements for each category. Both categories have different eligibility criteria based on, among others, candidates\u2019 financial background and scholastic record. \u2018PFF Penang Scholar\u2019 caters for those with CGPA of 3.67 and above whereas \u2018PFF Mutiara Scholar\u2019 is available for applicants whose CGPA is between 3.00 to 3.66. Successful applicants will receive benefits that correspond with the scholarship awarded to them. Application window for PFF Scholarship 2017 will open from 22 May 2017 to 18 June 2017. Interested students are encouraged to keep a lookout for periodic announcements through the following channels \u2013<\/p>\n
