Can MCA MIC and Gerakan Convince Non-Malays To Support UMNO In The 2 Parliamentary By-Elections Despite PAS Admission Of Co-operation With UMNO And Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad\u2019s Prediction That UMNO Will Support Abdul Hadi Awang\u2019s Hudud-like Laws In Parliament?<\/strong><\/p>\n BN\u2019s continued support for UMNO in the 2 parliamentary by-elections despite PAS Admision of co-operation with UMNO and former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad\u2019s prediction that UMNO will support PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang hudud-like laws in Parliament prove that MCA, Gerakan And MCA will also sell out and betray the Federal Constitution. So confident is UMNO of blind support from MCA, the the UMNO candidate for the Sungai Besar parliamentary by-election hopes for a revival of Chinese support. Can MCA MIC and Gerakan convince non-Malays to support UMNO in the 2 parliamentary by-elections despite PAS admission of co-operation with UMNO and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad\u2019s prediction that UMNO will support Abdul Hadi Awang\u2019s hudud-like laws in Parliament?<\/p>\n With only 14 MPs, PAS does not have even have the numbers to make a simple majority of 112 MPs much less a 2\/3 majority requiring 148 MPs. PAS can only succeed with the support of BN, which was what happened on 28th May 2016 when BN supported PAS to table the hudud bill for debate at the next parliamentary session.<\/p>\n UMNO\u2019s contempt of MCA that they are completely irrelevant is demonstrated by MCA Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan complaining that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had asked the Cabinet about Hadi\u2019s hudud bill and that the Cabinet had disagreed with the idea.<\/p>\n What is worse is that MCA did not dare to protest when BN reneged on the disagreement by Cabinet, when BN supported Hadi\u2019s hudud bill without informing MCA, Gerakan or MIC. Two Cabinet meetings have elapsed since Hadi\u2019s hudud bill was tabled in Parliament last week with the support of UMNO Ministers. However MIC, Gerakan or MCA\u2019s complaints that they were not even informed were never addressed by Cabinet. Clearly none of the MC, MIC or Gerakan Ministers dare to protest this betrayal at the two subsequent Cabinet meetings.<\/p>\n No wonder UMNO had challenged MCA, Gerakan or MIC not to make quit threats but instead make good the threats by quitting immediately and not later. The announcement of quitting MCA last Friday by Kedah MCA deputy chairman and state EXCO member Datuk Dr Leong Yong Kong, to protest against UMNO\u2019s support for Hadi\u2019s hudud bill and then his subsequent retraction of quitting MCA yesterday, only highlights the drama(sandiwara) of MCA leaders. Despite MCA being played out and betrayed by BN, MCA continues to remain in BN to desperately cling on to their Ministerial posts.<\/p>\n UMNO supporters are derisive of MCA\u2019s quit threats and is now challenging MCA to leave and resign from BN and their Ministerial posts immediately because MCA will never do so just like Datuk Dr Leong Yeong Kong. MCA, MIC and Gerakan leaders\u2019 quit threats will never happen and they will find an excuse, just like rejoining government again despite promising not to rejoin Cabinet and government if they perform badly in the 13th general elections.<\/p>\n Even Though Hadi\u2019s Bill Affects Only Muslims, It Also Impact Non-Muslims By Striking At The Very Core Of The Character And Identity Of The Federal Constitution.<\/p>\n To distract attention for their unprincipled actions, MCA had tried to shift the blame to DAP by calling us to leave the Selangor state government. Why should DAP leave the Selangor state government when the Selangor State government did not table any hudud bill? It is BN that facilitated and prioritised Hadi\u2019s hudud bill in Parliament, not the DAP. MCA MIC and Gerakan should leave BN immediately and not make empty quit threats to prove their principled stand of opposing Hadi\u2019s hudud bill.<\/p>\n Even though Hadi\u2019s bill affects only Muslims, it also impacts non-Muslims by striking at the very core of the character and identity of the Federal Constitution. It is wrong for Hadi to criticise DAP as a busybody for opposing his private member\u2019s bill that affects only Muslims, which former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad describing it as unjust and un-Islamic. Hadi must understand the non-Muslims\u2019 real fear of a further erosion of their constitutional rights in future and that they may lose out in any conflict or dispute between religious laws under syariah and secular laws under the Federal constitution.<\/p>\n Any proposal to implement hudud-like laws whether partially or in totality, or that which increases the powers of the syariah courts, should correctly be by way of constitutional amendment which requires a 2\/3 majority to pass. Hadi\u2019s hudud-like bill should not be by private member\u2019s bill which rquires only a simple majority. DAP wishes to reiterate that we do not oppose Islam, but opposes the hudud bill because is against the Federal Constitution. \u5deb\u7edf\u662f\u975e\u5e38\u4fe1\u5fc3\u6ee1\u6ee1\u80fd\u83b7\u5f97\u9a6c\u534e\u7684\u76f2\u76ee\u652f\u6301\uff0c\u671b\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u5019\u9009\u4eba\u5728\u5927\u6e2f\u7684\u56fd\u4f1a\u8865\u9009\u4e2d\u8ba9\u534e\u88d4\u56de\u6d41\u3002<\/p>\n \u9a6c\u534e\u3001\u56fd\u5927\u515a\u53ca\u6c11\u653f\u515a\u662f\u5426\u80fd\u5728\u65e0\u89c6\u4e8e\u4f0a\u65af\u5170\u515a\u4e0e\u5deb\u7edf\u7684\u5408\u4f5c\u53ca\u6566\u9a6c\u54c8\u8fea\u6240\u9884\u6d4b\u5deb\u7edf\u5c06\u4f1a\u5728\u56fd\u4f1a\u652f\u6301\u54c8\u8fea\u7c7b\u4f3c\u4f0a\u5211\u6cd5\u7684\u6cd5\u6848\u4e4b\u4e0b\uff0c\u8bf4\u670d\u975e\u9a6c\u6765\u4eba\u5728\u56fd\u4f1a\u8bae\u5e2d\u53cc\u8865\u9009\u652f\u6301\u5deb\u7edf\uff1f<\/p>\n \u7531\u4e8e\u4f0a\u65af\u5170\u515a\u53ea\u670914\u540d\u56fd\u4f1a\u8bae\u5458\uff0c\u4f0a\u515a\u751a\u81f3\u4e0d\u591f\u4eba\u6570\u5f62\u6210112\u540d\u7684\u7b80\u5355\u591a\u6570\u7968\uff0c\u66f4\u52a0\u4e0d\u7528\u8bf4\u9700\u8981\u4e09\u5206\u4e4b\u4e8c\u6216148\u540d\u56fd\u4f1a\u8bae\u5458\u7684\u901a\u8fc7\u3002\u4f0a\u65af\u5170\u515a\u53ea\u6709\u83b7\u5f97\u56fd\u9635\u7684\u652f\u6301\u624d\u80fd\u901a\u8fc7\uff0c\u4e0a\u4e2a\u661f\u671f\u56db\uff0c\u56fd\u9635\u652f\u6301\u4f0a\u65af\u5170\u515a\u63d0\u5448\u4f0a\u5211\u6cd5\u6cd5\u6848\uff0c\u4ee5\u5728\u4e0b\u4e00\u4e2a\u56fd\u4f1a\u4f1a\u8bae\u8fa9\u8bba\u3002<\/p>\n \u5deb\u7edf\u8511\u89c6\u9a6c\u534e\u3001\u65e0\u89c6\u9a6c\u534e\u5b58\u5728\u4e00\u4e8b\uff0c\u9a6c\u534e\u90e8\u957f\u62ff\u7763\u65af\u91cc\u9ec4\u5bb6\u6cc9\u4e5f\u8bc1\u5b9e\u53ca\u6295\u8bc9\u526f\u9996\u76f8\u62ff\u7763\u65af\u91cc\u963f\u672b\u624e\u5e0c\u66fe\u7ecf\u5728\u5185\u9601\u4f1a\u8bae\u4e2d\uff0c\u8be2\u95ee\u9601\u5458\u6709\u5173\u4f0a\u65af\u5170\u5211\u4e8b\u6cd5\u4e00\u4e8b\uff0c\u800c\u5185\u9601\u6210\u5458\u4e5f\u4e0d\u540c\u610f\u6709\u5173\u7684\u60f3\u6cd5\u3002<\/p>\n
