Press Statement By Penang Chief Minister And DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng In Kuala Lumpur On 16.5.2014.<\/p>\n

One week ago I had declared that the Penang state government will not implement hudud in the state and urged all other BN state governments to follow suit. The Penang state government welcomes Sarawak as the second state government in Malaysia after Penang to affirm that hudud will not be implemented in the state. Clearly Sarawak followed Penang in not implementing hudud because it is unconstitutional. <\/p>\n

I welcome the assurance given by new Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem at the Sarawak State Assembly yesterday, that hudud will never be implemented in the state and Malay-language Bibles containing the word ‘Allah’ will never be seized by the government. There are two key reasons why Sarawak became the first BN state government to declare that hudud will not be implemented in the state. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

One, there is a strong DAP presence as the largest opposition party with 12 State Assemblymen and secondly there is no UMNO in the state. Clearly the other BN state governments will not follow the example of Sarawak because either there is no strong DAP presence or they are dominated by UMNO. <\/p>\n

This clearly shows that MCA and Gerakan are unable to have any influence on UMNO in terms of policy and decision-making. Would MCA or Gerakan set as a condition for rejoining Cabinet, that BN and UMNO dissolve the joint technical committee on hudud set up by Putrajaya and the Kelantan state government to study the implementation of hudud in Kelantan? <\/p>\n

Their failure to even voice this personally to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak only reaffirms that MCA and Gerakan cannot be trusted and are more interested in the perks and privileges of government posts than upholding principles. It is completely dishonest and irresponsible for MCA and Gerakan to talk only about opposing implementing hudud in Kelantan by PAS but not by UMNO. <\/p>\n

UMNO must bear full responsibility for this joint technical committee on hudud because it was initiated by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyidin Yassin. Further it was an UMNO Minister that proposed on 27 March 2014 in Parliament that PAS move a private member\u2019s bill in Parliament to implement hudud on Muslims in Kelantan and promised the BN government\u2019s and UMNO\u2019s full support for PAS. <\/p>\n

Without full support from UMNO\u2019s 88 MPs, there is no possibility of hudud becoming law in Kelantan. Any Chinese organisations and mass media that only pressure PAS not to implement hudud without similarly pressuring UMNO, are mere puppets of MCA and Gerakan.<\/p>\n

\n\u4e00\u4e2a\u661f\u671f\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u6211\u5ba3\u5e03\u69df\u5dde\u653f\u5e9c\u7edd\u4e0d\u4f1a\u5728\u69df\u5dde\u63a8\u884c\u4f0a\u5211\u6cd5\uff0c\u4e5f\u4fc3\u8bf7\u5176\u5b83\u56fd\u9635\u5dde\u653f\u5e9c\u4e00\u8d77\u53cd\u5bf9\u3002\u69df\u5dde\u653f\u5e9c\u6b22\u8fce\u7802\u62c9\u8d8a\u653f\u5e9c\u6210\u4e3a\u5168\u9a6c\u7b2c\u4e8c\u4e2a\u53cd\u5bf9\u4f0a\u65af\u5170\u5211\u4e8b\u6cd5\u7684\u5dde\u653f\u5e9c\u3002\u5f88\u660e\u663e\u5730\uff0c\u7802\u62c9\u8d8a\u8ddf\u968f\u69df\u5dde\u7684\u811a\u6b65\uff0c\u4e0d\u63a8\u884c\u4f0a\u5211\u6cd5\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u5b83\u662f\u8fdd\u53cd\u5baa\u6cd5\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

\u6211\u6b22\u8fce\u7802\u62c9\u8d8a\u5dde\u9996\u957f\u4e39\u65af\u5170\u963f\u5fb7\u5357\u6c99\u4e39\u6628\u5929\u5728\u7802\u5dde\u8bae\u4f1a\u505a\u51fa\u7684\u5ba3\u5e03\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u662f\u7802\u62c9\u8d8a\u7edd\u4e0d\u4f1a\u63a8\u884c\u4f0a\u5211\u6cd5\uff0c\u53ca\u7802\u5dde\u653f\u5e9c\u4e5f\u7edd\u4e0d\u4f1a\u6ca1\u6536\u9a6c\u6765\u6587\u7248\u300a\u5723\u7ecf\u300b\u3002\u7802\u5dde\u662f\u7b2c\u4e00\u4e2a\u5ba3\u5e03\u4e0d\u63a8\u884c\u4f0a\u5211\u6cd5\u7684\u56fd\u9635\u5dde\u653f\u5e9c\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u6709\u4e24\u4e2a\u4e3b\u8981\u539f\u56e0\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5c31\u662f\u7802\u5dde\u62e5\u6709\u5f3a\u5927\u7684\u884c\u52a8\u515a\u505a\u4e3a\u7802\u5dde\u6700\u5927\u7684\u53cd\u5bf9\u515a\uff0c\u884c\u52a8\u515a\u62e5\u670912\u4e2a\u5dde\u8bae\u5458\u53ca\u5dde\u5185\u6ca1\u6709\u5deb\u7edf\u3002\u5f88\u660e\u663e\u7684\uff0c\u5176\u5b83\u56fd\u9635\u5dde\u653f\u5e9c\u4e0d\u4f1a\u50cf\u7802\u5dde\u8fd9\u6837\u8868\u8fbe\u53cd\u5bf9\u7acb\u573a\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u5b83\u4eec\u6ca1\u6709\u5f3a\u5927\u7684\u884c\u52a8\u515a\uff0c\u4e5f\u88ab\u5deb\u7edf\u5784\u65ad\u3002<\/p>\n
