Sdr Tan Kok Wai Will Be DAP CEC By-election Director Whilst Sdr Chow Kon Yeow Will Be Penang By-Election Director For Bukit Gelugor Parliamentary Seat Vacated Following The Death Of DAP National Chairman, 8-term Member of Parliament and formerly 4-term state assembly man in Kedah and Penang, Sdr Karpal Singh.<\/p>\n
Sdr Tan Kok Wai Will Be DAP CEC By-election Director whilst Sdr Chow Kon Yeow will be Penang By-Election Director for Bukit Gelugor Parliamentary seat vacated following the death of DAP National Chairman, 8-term Member of Parliament and formerly 4-term state assembly man in Kedah and Penang, Sdr Karpal Singh. Sdr Tan is the Acting DAP National Chair whilst Sdr Chow is the DAP Penang State Chair and Senior State EXCO member. <\/p>\n
The Election Commission had announced May 12 as nomination day and May 25 as polling day for the Bukit Gelugor parliamentary seat. The DAP Penang state committee will be meeting this evening whilst the CEC meeting will be on 28 April in Kuala Lumpur to discuss election preparations. Candidature will be discussed by the CEC and decided by the DAP Candidature Committee headed by me and comprising Sdr Tan Kok Wai and Sdr
\nLim Kit Siang. <\/p>\n
No announcement will be made on candidature until 28 April. All leaders are requested to refrain from speaking to the press about the by-election to avoid distortion by the mainstream media. Until then, Sdr Tan, Sdr Chow and myself will be the spokesperson on the by-election preparations. <\/p>\n
DAP has lost an upstanding and outstanding leader in Karpal Singh, the nation lost a brilliant legal mind and the rakyat a fearless “tiger” with an indomitable spirit who stood up for the poor, weak defenceless and dispossesed. Karpal will be sorely missed and we need to continue his life-long struggle for justice, integrity, freedom and democracy for a better Malaysia.<\/p>\n
The by-election may be difficult for the DAP because it is unlikely that the party can repeat the huge majority of 41,778 votes won by Karpal in the 2013 general elections. After all who can match the irreplaceable Karpal? For this reason, nothing should be taken for granted and there must be a concerted effort to bring out the vote in Bukit Gelugor on 25 May 2014.<\/p>\n

\u57284\u670828\u65e5\u4e4b\u524d\u5c06\u4e0d\u4f1a\u6709\u5173\u4e8e\u5019\u9009\u4eba\u7684\u5ba3\u5e03\u3002\u5168\u4f53\u9886\u8896\u53d7\u8981\u6c42\u907f\u514d\u5411\u5a92\u4f53\u900f\u9732\u5173\u4e8e\u8865\u9009\u4e8b\u5b9c\uff0c\u4ee5\u514d\u906d\u5230\u4e3b\u6d41\u5a92\u4f53\u7684\u626d\u66f2\u3002\u6240\u6709\u8865\u9009\u7b79\u5907\u76f8\u5173\u4e8b\u5b9c\u5c06\u53ea\u6709\u9648\u56fd\u4f1f\u540c\u5fd7\u3001\u66f9\u89c2\u53cb\u540c\u5fd7\u53ca\u6211\u672c\u8eab\u4f5c\u4e3a\u53d1\u8a00\u4eba\u3002<\/p>\n
