DAP is shocked at the pre-emptive and premature announcement by Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to direct DAP to reconvene party elections when the Registrar of Societies(ROS) has not even prepared a letter to the DAP of this decision is an act of political victimisation and abuse of power. Datuk Ahmad had made the announcement in an impromptu speech during the ROS\u2019 buka puasa function in Putrajaya completely unprepared, without any written grounds on why DAP is required to call for fresh party elections.<\/p>\n
This is an act of political vengeance and victimisation because DAP was never informed before hand, either verbally or in writing of this directive to hold fresh elections. Further the letter promised by ROS to be sent to DAP has not even been prepared or sent. When DAP National Organising Secretary and MP for Seremban Anthony Loke visited the ROS Headquarters in Putrajaya this morning, he was informed that the letter was not ready to be sent yet. Has ROS surrenderred its professionalism and integrity to UMNO and BN to be a willing tool to fix up BN\u2019s political enemies?<\/p>\n
These events lend suspicion that ROS had clearly pre-judged and made up its mind to fix up the DAP. No serious consideration was given to the explanations by DAP that the party elections in December last year was conducted properly, legally and democratically where all qualified delegates were fully informed without any dishonest practice of money politics or hanky panky. <\/p>\n
The only mistake was in the posting of the results by the Returning Officer that led to the wrong votes being announced for the successful candidates. When this error was discovered, this was admitted to and rectified by the party voluntarily without being exposed by any outside parties. The party is now punished for being refusing to hide mistakes and by being honest and truthful.<\/p>\n
DAP has given full co-operation to the ROS and provided all information requested. For the ROS to claim now that the DAP CEC is not recognised is self-contradictory as ROS Director-General continues to address me as DAP Secretary-General in official letters this year and even stated that DAP is authorised to use our Rocket symbol during the last general elections.<\/p>\n
DAP urges all leaders, members and supporters to remain calm. An emergency CEC meeting will be held tomorrow night at the DAP Headquarters to deal with this latest development. As this is a clear act of political vengeance and an illegal abuse of power, the DAP CEC shall consider all options as provided for under the Societies Act, after receiving a written directive from ROS.<\/p>\n

Pengumuman spontan dan tergesa-gesa oleh Ahmad Zahid Hamidi mengarahkan DAP untuk mengadakan semula pemilihan parti apabila Pendaftar Pertubuhan (ROS) sendiri belum pun menyediakan surat memaklumkan DAP tentang keputusan ini adalah satu tindakan pemangsaan politik dan salahguna kuasa.<\/strong><\/p>\n DAP amat terkejut dengan tindakan pengumuman spontan dan tergesa-gesa oleh Menteri Dalam Negeri, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi mengarahkan DAP untuk mengadakan semula pemilihan parti apabila Pendaftar Pertubuhan (ROS) sendiri belum pun menyediakan surat memaklumkan DAP tentang keputusan ini yang merupakan satu tindakan pemangsaan politik dan salahguna kuasa. Ahmad Zahid telah membuat pengumuman tersebut dalam satu ucapan spontan sewaktu majlis berbuka puasa ROS di Putrajaya tanpa sebarang persediaan, tanpa apa-apa sebab bertulis tentang kenapa DAP perlu mengadakan semula pemilihan partinya.<\/p>\n Ini adalah satu tindakan balas dendam politik dan menjadi DAP mangsa kerana pihak parti tidak pun dimaklumkan terlebih dahulu, sama ada secara lisan atau bertulis tentang arahan untuk mengadakan pemilihan semula ini. Tambahan kepada itu, surat rasmi yang dijanjikan oleh ROS untuk dihantar kepada DAP masih belum disediakan mahupun dihantar. Apabila Setiausaha Organisasi DAP yang juga Ahli Parlimen Seremban. Anthony Loke melawat ibu pejabat ROS di Putrajaya pagi ini, beliau dimaklumkan bahawa surat tersebut masih belum siap untuk dihantar. <\/p>\n Adakah ROS telah menggadaikan profesionalisme dan integritinya kepada UMNO dan BN, serta merelakan diri menjadi alat untuk mengkhianati musuh politik BN?<\/p>\n Kejadian ini menimbulkan keraguan sama ada ROS telah benar-benar bertindak prejudis dan telah pun membuat keputusan untuk mengkhianati DAP. Tidak ada sebarang pertimbangan serius dibuat terhadap penjelasan DAP bahawa pemilihan parti tahun lalu telah dilaksanakan dengan baik, menepati undang-undang serta demokratik di mana semua perwakilan yang layak telah dimaklumkan tanpa sebarang perlakuan tidak jujur seperti politik wang atau apa-apa tindakan yang meragukan.<\/p>\n Satu-satunya kesilapan yang timbul ialah dalam proses penyiaran keputusan tersebut oleh ketua pegawai pemilihan yang menyebabkan bilangan undi yang salah diumumkan untuk calon-calon yang berjaya. Apabila kesilapan ini disedari, ia terus diperakui dan dibetulkan oleh parti secara sukarela tanpa didedahkan oleh mana-mana pihak luar. Pihak parti sekarang dihukum kerana enggan menutup kesilapan serta kerana bertindak jujur dan bercakap benar. <\/p>\n DAP telah memberikan kerjasama penuh kepada pihak ROS dan telah memberikan semua maklumat yang diminta. Untuk ROS kini mendakwa bahawa Jawatankuasa Eksekutif Pusat (CEC) DAP tidak diiktiraf adalah bertentangan dengan pendirian mereka sendiri apabila Pengarah ROS pun terus memanggil saya sebagai Setiausaha Agung DAP dalam surat-surat rasminya tahun ini malah menyatakan bahawa DAP dibenarkan menggunakan simbol Roket dalam Pilihan Raya Umum yang lalu.<\/p>\n DAP menyeru semua pemimpin, ahli dan penyokong supaya bertenang. Sebuah mesyuarat tergempar CEC akan diadakan esok malam di ibu pejabat DAP untuk menangani perkembangan terbaru ini. Memandangkan ini adalah jelas satu tindakan balas dendam politik dan salahguna kuasa, CEC DAP akan menimbangkan semua kemungkinan seperti yang ditetapkan di dalam Akta Pertubuhan, selepas menerima
