\nFor Malaysia To Win The Future We Must Not Only Invest In Human Talent But Also Implement People-Centric Policies That Match Ability And Opportunity. <\/strong><\/p>\n

As Malaysia\u2019s celebrates our 55th Merdeka celebrations, the critical question is how can Malaysia escape the middle-income trap and become a high-income and developed economy by 2020. The 2012 Wealth Report, recently released by Knight Frank and CitiPrivate Wealth, identified the key drivers of growth as human capital, a dynamic business environment, capital mobility, openness to trade and foreign direct investment.<\/p>\n

The 2012 Inclusive Wealth Report 2012 by the United Nations stresses on human capital as a definition of a nation’s true wealth. In other words if we want to win the future we build, retain and attract human talent. For Malaysia to win the future we must not only invest in human talent but also implement people-centric policies that match ability and opportunity. <\/p>\n

The time has come to focus on people-centric policies that makes Malaysians more united and competitive, operating in an eco-system that enjoys integrity in leadership and good governance. Malaysians must not allow ourselves to be distracted by cronies who wants to divide us with mediocrity as well as provoke racial and religious hatred so that cronies can continue to rob our country with bad governance and corruption. <\/p>\n

The various transformation programmes carried out by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak will finally fail so long as there is no open tenders, public declaration of assets, full disclosure of government contracts or transparent and accountable decision-making by government institutions. This was most evident when a Malaysia
\nAssociated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCCIM) survey discovered 72.9% of Malaysia\u2019s Chinese business community are unhappy with the state of the economy and are not optimistic of Malaysia\u2019s success in escaping the middle-income trap. <\/p>\n

With many small and medium enterprises or SME\u2019s not benefiting from BN\u2019s government\u2019s transformation programmes, SME\u2019s faces increase in operating costs and prices of raw materials, shortage in manpower, and domestic competition. The latest attempt to punish whistle-blowers such as PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli for exposing the RM250 million National Feedlot \u201ccows and condos\u201d scandal, only highlights the singular lack of commitment towards fighting corruption. <\/p>\n

Malaysians must unite based on common values of justice, freedom, equal opportunity, integrity and fair competition so that we reward not just hard work and honesty but ensures that the rich or the poor, the skilled or unskilled can find rewarding work to live in dignity. <\/p>\n

\nSementara Malaysia menyambut ulangtahun kemerdekaan yang ke-55, soalan yang harus ditanya adalah bagaimanakah Malaysia boleh mengelak perangkap pendapatan sederhana dan menjadi ekonomi maju dan berpendapatan tinggi menjelang 2020. Mengikut laporan Wealth Report 2012 yang baru dikeluarkan oleh Knight Frank dan CitiPrivate Wealth, pemacu-pemacu utama pertumbuhan merupakan modal insan, suasana perniagaan yang dinamik, mobiliti modal serta keterbukaan kepada perdagangan dan pelaburan langsung asing (FDI).<\/p>\n

Laporan Inclusive Wealth Report 2012 oleh Persatuan Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu telah menekankan modal insan sebagai penanda kekayaan sebenar sesebuah negara. Dalam erti kata lain, jika kita mahu mencapai kemenangan masa depan, kita harus membina, mengekalkan dan menarik modal insan. Demi mencapai kemenangan masa depan, kita bukan sahaja harus melabur dalam modal insan tetapi juga melaksanakan dasar-dasar berjiwa rakyat yang sesuai dengan keupayaan dan peluang.<\/p>\n

Masa sudah tiba untuk menumpukan perhatian kepada dasar-dasar berjiwa rakyat yang menjadikan rakyat Malaysia lebih bersatu dan berdaya saing, serta beroperasi dalam ekosistem yang menikmati kepimpinan berintegriti dan tadbir urus yang baik. Rakyat Malaysia tidak harus membenarkan para kroni yang ingin memecah belahkan kita dengan provokasi perkauman dan agama supaya mereka boleh terus merompak negara kita dengan rasuah dan tadbir urus yang tidak baik.<\/p>\n

Program-program transformasi yang dijalankan oleh Perdana Menteri Najib Tun Razak bakal mencapai kegagalan selagi tidak melaksanakan tender terbuka, pengisytiharan harta secara terbuka, pendedahan penuh kontrak-kontrak kereajaan atau proses membuat keputusan yang telus dan bertanggungjawab oleh institusi-institusi kerajaan. Ini jelas apabila kaji selidik Malaysia Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCCIM) telah mendapati bahawa 72.9% daripada komuniti perniagaan Cina Malaysia berasa tidak puas hati dengan keadaan ekonomi dan tidak optimistik bahawa Malaysia dapat mengelak daripada jerat perangkap pendapatan sederhana.<\/p>\n

Oleh kerana kebanyakan perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (SME) tidak bermanfaat daripada program-program transformasi kerajaan BN, maka SME-SME sekarang menghadapi kos operasi dan bahan mentah yang kian meningkat, kekurangan pekerja dan persaingan domestik. Percubaan terbaru untuk menghukum peniup wisel seperti Pengarah Strategi PKR Rafizi Ramli kerana mendedahkan skandal \u201clembu dan kondo\u201d National Feedlot yang bernilai RM250 juta, hanya menonjolkan kekurangan komitmen dalam usaha membanteras korupsi.<\/p>\n

Rakyat Malaysia harus bersatu berdasarkan nilai-nilai sejagat seperti keadilan, kebebasan, peluang saksama, integriti dan saingan adil supaya ganjaran akan dikaut oleh mereka yang bekerja keras dan jujur dan juga untuk memastikan bahawa semua, tidak kira yang kaya atau miskin, yang mahir atau tidak mahir, dapat mencari pekerjaan yang mendatangkan kepuasan dan kehidupan yang bermartabat.<\/p>\n
