Whilst both UMNO leaders have not done anything illegal, it is immoral and unprincipled for them to claim to defend Malay land rights from being eroded and yet at the same time act as land brokers to sell away Malay land for personal profit at the expense of these Malay landowners. <\/p>\n<p>Last week, Penang State Assembly Speaker Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain had exposed this land profiteering scandal by these two UMNO leaders of nearly 10 acres of land Kampung Terang, Balik Pulau on 31 Malay landowners in Penang:-<\/p>\n<p>\u2022        Land transferred by 31 landowners to Maison Heights Sdn Bhd on 31 January 2012 at a combined price of RM 8.6 million;<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\u2022        Maison Heights Sdn Bhd was formed on 6 March 2009 to deal with construction, land, property investment and development as well as general trading;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022        Masion Heights Sdn Bhd paid up capital is RM 1 million and owned by Dato Musa with RM 500,000 shares and Dato Omar with RM 499,999 whilst Omar\u2019s brother Harun owns RM 1 share;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022        Maison Heights Sdn Bhd sold the land to Kay Pride Sdn Bhd on 16 May 2012 for RM 13.5 million. <\/p>\n<p>In other words, Maison Heights Sdn Bhd or Dato Musa and Dato Omar both earned nearly RM 5 million from the land transaction in only 3.5 months. This RM 5 million profit out of an initial investment of RM 8.6 million represents a 57% profit margin in only 3.5 months \u2013 a remarkable profitable return in such short time.<\/p>\n<p>Is this how UMNO leaders defend the rights of Malays \u2013 by profiting and benefiting at their expense? Up to now both had not explained how the RM5.7 million profit they earned would benefit the 31 Malay landowners.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, both UMNO leaders had criticised the state government for trying to take Malay land to chase out the Malays from Penang. UMNO had also criticised the state government for wanting to acquire 100 acres of land in another site in Balik Pulau for education purposes in building the Asian Women Leadership University(AWLU). The Penang state government had been subjected to such racist attacks by UMNO even though 60% of  the land is non-Malay and 40% Malay. <\/p>\n<p>AWLU was approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyidin Yassin in 10 February 2012  as a key educational project for transforming Pmalaysia into a high-income economy. Minister in the Prime Minister\u2019s Department Dato Seri Idris Jala had on 12 June 2012 had requested the state government to initiate transfer of 100 acres of land to AWLU. <\/p>\n<p>The Penang state government had supported this initiative of setting up the first women\u2019s university in Malaysia, as it will be run by Smith College, the top women\u2019s university in USA. After the state government managed to persuade AWLU to choose another site, the land acquisition was called off. This has not only disabled UMNO\u2019s racist attacks but also proves that the state government only acquires land for public purpose and only when there is a credible proposal from a reliable institution. <\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the expose of land profiteering scandal involving UMNO leaders at the expense of ordinary Malay landowners proves UMNO\u2019s hypocrisy in saying one thing of defending the Malays but doing another in selling out their rights. Clearly it is not the Penang PR state government but UMNO leaders such as Dato Musa and Dato Omar who are selling out Malay land. <\/p>\n<p>Najib should salvage UMNO\u2019s credibility by directing both of these UMNO leaders to return to RM5 million profits back to the 31 Malay landowners. If both of them are genunine land brokers, they are entitled to the prevailing market commission rate of 2% or only RM 270,000 and not RM 5 million which works out to an astronomical 57% commission rate!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; BM Version &#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>Kenyataan Akhbar oleh Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang Lim Guan Eng di Kuala Lumpur pada 24.7.2012 <\/p>\n<p><strong>Dato\u2019 Sri Najib Tun Razak Harus Mengarahkan Timbalan Pengerusi UMNO Pulau Pinang Dan Pengarah Pilihan Raya BN Pulau Pinang Untuk Memulangkan Keuntungan RM5 Juta Sebagai Broker Tanah Atau 57% Keuntungan Yang Dikaut Dalam 3.5 Bulan Kepada 31 Pemilik Tanah Melayu Di Kampung Terang, Balik Pulau.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nPerdana Menteri Dato\u2019 Sri Najib Tun Razak harus mengarahkan timbalan pengerusi UMNO Pulau Pinang Dato\u2019 Musa bin Haji Sheikh Fadzir dan pengarah pilihan raya BN Pulau Pinang Dato\u2019 Omar Haji Faudzar untuk memulangkan keuntungan RM5 juta sebagai broker tanah atau 57% keuntungan yang dikaut dalam 3.5 bulan kepada 31 pemilik tanah Melayu di Kampung Terang, Balik Pulau, Pulau Pinang. Walaupun tindakan kedua-dua pemimpin UMNO ini tidaklah haram, tindakan mereka sebagai broker tanah untuk menjual tanah Melayu untuk keuntungan peribadi yang sepatutnya dimiliki pemilik tanah Melayu adalah tidak bermoral dan tidak berprinsip, apatah lagi apabila mereka mendakwa kononnya mempertahankan hak tanah Melayu. <\/p>\n<p>Minggu lepas, Speaker Dewan Undangan Negeri Pulau Pinang Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain telah mendedahkan skandal pencatutan tanah oleh kedua-dua pemimpin UMNO ini yang membabitkan hampir 10 ekar tanah di Kampung Terang, Balik Pulau:<br \/>\n\u2022         Tanah dipindah milik daripada 31 pemilik tanah Melayu kepada Maison Heights Sdn Bhd pada 31 Januari 2012 dengan jumlah harga RM8.6 juta;<br \/>\n\u2022         Maison Heights Sdn Bhd telah ditubuhkan pada 6 Mac 2009 untuk tujuan pembinaan, tanah, pelaburan dan pemajuan hartanah serta perdagangan am;<br \/>\n\u2022         Maison Heights Sdn Bhd mempunyai modal berbayar RM1 juta dan dimiliki oleh Dato\u2019 Musa dengan RM500,000 saham, Dato\u2019 Omar dengan RM499,999 sementara adik Omar Harun mempunyai RM1 saham.<br \/>\n\u2022         Maison Heights Sdn Bhd telah menjual tanah tersebut kepada Kay Pride Sdn Bhd pada 16 Mei 2012 dengan harga RM13.5 juta.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam erti kata lain, Maison Heights Sdn Bhd ataupun Dato\u2019 Musa dan Dato\u2019 Omar telah mengaut keuntungan hampir RM5 juta daripada transaksi tanah dalam masa 3.5 bulan. Keuntungan RM5 juta ini daripada pelaburan asal RM8.6 juta bermaksud margin keuntungan adalah 57% dalam masa 3.5 bulan sahaja \u2013 satu keuntungan yang luar biasa dalam masa yang singkat.<\/p>\n<p>Adakah ini caranya pemimpin UMNO mempertahankan hak Melayu \u2013 dengan mengaut keuntungan yang sepatutnya dimiliki orang Melayu biasa? Sehingga sekarang, mereka belum lagi menjelaskan bagaimana keuntungan RM5 juta itu boleh membawa manfaat kepada 31 pemilik tanah Melayu tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Dahulu, kedua-dua pemimpin UMNO ini telah mengkritik kerajaan negeri kerana ingin mengambil tanah Melayu demi mengejar keluar orang Melayu daripada Pulu Pinang. UMNO juga telah mengkritik kerajaan negeri kerana ingin memperoleh tanah 100 ekar di kawasan lain di Balik Pulau untuk tujuan pendidikan dengan mendirikan Asian Women Leadership University (AWLU). Kerajaan Pulau Pinang telah dimangsakan dengan serangan rasis UMNO walaupun 60% tanah tersebut dimiliki bukan Melayu dan hanya 40% dimiliki Melayu.<\/p>\n<p>AWLU telah diluluskan oleh Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin pada 10 Februari 2012 sebagai projek utama pendidikan dalam usaha mentransformasikan Malaysia kepada ekonomi pendapatan tinggi. Menteri dalam Jabatan Perdana Menteri Dato\u2019 Sri Idris Jala pada 12 Jun 2012 telah meminta kerajaan negeri untuk memulakan proses pemindahan milik tanah 100 ekar kepada AWLU.<\/p>\n<p>Kerajaan negeri Pulau Pinang telah menyokong inisiatif untuk menubuhkan universiti wanita pertama di Malaysia, memandangkan ia akan dikendalikan oleh Smith College, iaitu universiti wanita terunggul di Amerika Syarikat. Selepas kerajaan negeri berjaya memujuk AWLU untuk memilih kawasan lain, proses pemerolehan tanah telah dibatalkan. Ini bukan sahaja telah melumpuhkan serangan rasis UMNO tetapi juga telah membuktikan bahawa kerajaan negeri hanya memperoleh tanah untuk tujuan awam dan juga hanya berdasarkan cadangan yang kredibel daripada institusi yang boleh dipercayai.<\/p>\n<p>Pada masa yang sama, pendedahan skandal pencatutan tanah oleh pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO membuktikan kemunafikan UMNO yang menguar-uarkan pertahanan hak Melayu tetapi sebenarnya menggadaikan hak mereka. Jelas bukanlah kerajaan negeri PR Pulau Pinang tetapi pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO seperti Dato\u2019 Musa dan Dato\u2019 Omar yang telah menggadaikan tanah Melayu.<\/p>\n<p>Najib harus menyelamatkan kredibiliti UMNO dengan mengarahkan kedua-dua pemimpin UMNO ini untuk memulangkan keuntungan RM5 juta yang diperoleh kepada 31 pemilik tanah Melayu. Jika mereka adalah broker tanah yang tulen, mereka berhak untuk mendapat komisyen pada kadar pasaran iaitu 2% ataupun RM270,000 dan bukan RM5 juta ataupun kadar komisyen 57%!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;-
