Transforming Penang By Building A Future For Our Youths And Building Our Youths For The Future (en/cn).

Changing Penang in a Changing World: Transforming Penang

Ladies and gentlemen thank you very much for inviting me here to speak. I come here as the Chief Minister of Penang, one of four states led by Pakatan Rakyat or the People’s Pact, the opposition coalition in Malaysia. I am from the Democratic Action Party, one of three coalition partners. I am extremely proud to be given the opportunity to govern the beautiful vibrant state of Penang and delighted to have the opportunity to speak to you. I hope by the end of my remarks you will consider coming to visit and invest in Penang, as it continues to be an attractive location for business and pleasure alike.

It is wonderful to be in Singapore. We have so much in common; shared history and people. Our bonds are deeply intertwined, culturally, politically and economically. I would like to highlight some of our common features. We are both small states that have punched above our weight economically through the hard work and creativity of our people. We have both been successes despite our size and obstacles we share. Today, more than 25%Malaysia’s exports in terms of value and volume come from Penang – more than half of the country’s electronics are produced there – and we are among the top tourist destinations in Malaysia with a record numbers of visitors. Like Singapore, we appreciate the importance of planning, a favorable market environment for investors and fiscal responsibility. We both have worked hard to put ourselves on the map internationally, and done so successfully.

UMNO’s Senator Ezam Mohamad Nor’s Arrest Proves That Penang UMNO Is A Coward For Denying UMNO’s Involvement In A Violent Illegal Demonstration

UMNO’s Senator Ezam Mohamad Nor’s Arrest Proves That Penang UMNO Is A Coward For Denying UMNO’s Involvement In A Violent Illegal Demonstration On 1.7.2011 In Komtar And The Penang Bridge That Disrupted Traffic For 10 Km And Attacked Two Reporters.

The Penang state government is shocked by Penang UMNO State Liaison Chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman’s blatant and open lie that UMNO is not involved in a violent demonstration on 1.7.2011 in Komtar and the Penang Bridge that severely disrupted traffic for 10 Km and attacked two reporters from Chinese newspapers.

Instead of trying to deny and cover-up UMNO’s involvement, Datuk Zainal should have sought public forgiveness and apologised for UMNO’s involvement. Video footage of the illegal assembly and the arrest of UMNO Senator Ezam Mohd Nor by the police for illegal assembly proves that UMNO is a coward for trying to deny its involvement and is a classic reminder of the Malay proverb, “baling batu sembunyi tangan”.

Koh had announced on May 16 2011 that Prime Minister Dato Sri Najib Abdul Razak would be revealing an extraordinary investment by an American company in Penang when Najib visited US last month.

Koh claimed that he played a major role as an adviser to the American company in making its decision to invest RM4 billion to set up a Global Excellence Centre in Penang. BN Penang In Breach Of Confidentiality And Secrecy Of National Water Agreements(en/bm/cn)

BN Penang In Breach Of Confidentiality And Secrecy Of National Water Agreements Worked Out Between The Penang State Government And The Federal Government.

The Penang state government regrets that BN Penang has chosen to score cheap political points by publicising details of a national water agreement worked out between the Federal and state government. Such agreements are secret in nature and highly confidential, as only either the state or the Federal government have the right to disclose the details of such an agreement.

State Barisan Nasional (BN) working committee chairman Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan appears to have forgotten that he is no longer the Penang state government. Has Teng forgotten he was rejected by his Pulau Tikus voters and lost in the last general elections? He is also not holding any Federal government position. What right and on whose behalf is he representing in making such announcements that should only come from either the Federal or state government?

Menangani Masalah 3C Di Pulau Pinang Ke arah Pulau Pinang Yang Lebih Bersih, Lebih Hijau Lebih Selamat Dan Kurang Sesak.

Ucapan Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang Lim Guan Eng Dalam Mesyuarat Am Tahunan(MAT) DAP Cawangan Air Putih Di Pulau Pinang Pada 5 Petang Ahad 22 Mei 2011.

Menangani Masalah 3C Di Pulau Pinang Ke arah Pulau Pinang Yang Lebih Bersih, Lebih Hijau Lebih Selamat Dan Kurang Sesak.
