Can MCA MIC and Gerakan Convince Non-Malays To Support UMNO In The 2 Parliamentary By-Elections Despite PAS Admission Of Co-operation With UMNO And Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s Prediction That UMNO Will Support Abdul Hadi Awang’s Hudud-like Laws In Parliament?

BN’s continued support for UMNO in the 2 parliamentary by-elections despite PAS Admision of co-operation with UMNO and former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s prediction that UMNO will support PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang hudud-like laws in Parliament prove that MCA, Gerakan And MCA will also sell out and betray the Federal Constitution. So confident is UMNO of blind support from MCA, the the UMNO candidate for the Sungai Besar parliamentary by-election hopes for a revival of Chinese support.

Can MCA MIC and Gerakan convince non-Malays to support UMNO in the 2 parliamentary by-elections despite PAS admission of co-operation with UMNO and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s prediction that UMNO will support Abdul Hadi Awang’s hudud-like laws in Parliament?

With only 14 MPs, PAS does not have even have the numbers to make a simple majority of 112 MPs much less a 2/3 majority requiring 148 MPs. PAS can only succeed with the support of BN, which was what happened on 28th May 2016 when BN supported PAS to table the hudud bill for debate at the next parliamentary session.

UMNO’s contempt of MCA that they are completely irrelevant is demonstrated by MCA Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan complaining that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had asked the Cabinet about Hadi’s hudud bill and that the Cabinet had disagreed with the idea.

What is worse is that MCA did not dare to protest when BN reneged on the disagreement by Cabinet, when BN supported Hadi’s hudud bill without informing MCA, Gerakan or MIC. Two Cabinet meetings have elapsed since Hadi’s hudud bill was tabled in Parliament last week with the support of UMNO Ministers. However MIC, Gerakan or MCA’s complaints that they were not even informed were never addressed by Cabinet. Clearly none of the MC, MIC or Gerakan Ministers dare to protest this betrayal at the two subsequent Cabinet meetings.

No wonder UMNO had challenged MCA, Gerakan or MIC not to make quit threats but instead make good the threats by quitting immediately and not later. The announcement of quitting MCA last Friday by Kedah MCA deputy chairman and state EXCO member Datuk Dr Leong Yong Kong, to protest against UMNO’s support for Hadi’s hudud bill and then his subsequent retraction of quitting MCA yesterday, only highlights the drama(sandiwara) of MCA leaders. Despite MCA being played out and betrayed by BN, MCA continues to remain in BN to desperately cling on to their Ministerial posts.

UMNO supporters are derisive of MCA’s quit threats and is now challenging MCA to leave and resign from BN and their Ministerial posts immediately because MCA will never do so just like Datuk Dr Leong Yeong Kong. MCA, MIC and Gerakan leaders’ quit threats will never happen and they will find an excuse, just like rejoining government again despite promising not to rejoin Cabinet and government if they perform badly in the 13th general elections.

Even Though Hadi’s Bill Affects Only Muslims, It Also Impact Non-Muslims By Striking At The Very Core Of The Character And Identity Of The Federal Constitution.

To distract attention for their unprincipled actions, MCA had tried to shift the blame to DAP by calling us to leave the Selangor state government. Why should DAP leave the Selangor state government when the Selangor State government did not table any hudud bill? It is BN that facilitated and prioritised Hadi’s hudud bill in Parliament, not the DAP. MCA MIC and Gerakan should leave BN immediately and not make empty quit threats to prove their principled stand of opposing Hadi’s hudud bill.

Even though Hadi’s bill affects only Muslims, it also impacts non-Muslims by striking at the very core of the character and identity of the Federal Constitution. It is wrong for Hadi to criticise DAP as a busybody for opposing his private member’s bill that affects only Muslims, which former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad describing it as unjust and un-Islamic. Hadi must understand the non-Muslims’ real fear of a further erosion of their constitutional rights in future and that they may lose out in any conflict or dispute between religious laws under syariah and secular laws under the Federal constitution.

Any proposal to implement hudud-like laws whether partially or in totality, or that which increases the powers of the syariah courts, should correctly be by way of constitutional amendment which requires a 2/3 majority to pass. Hadi’s hudud-like bill should not be by private member’s bill which rquires only a simple majority. DAP wishes to reiterate that we do not oppose Islam, but opposes the hudud bill because is against the Federal Constitution. A country cannot have two systems of criminal justice, one based on civil laws and the other on religious laws.

由于伊斯兰党只有14名国会议员,伊党甚至不够人数形成112名的简单多数票,更加不用说需要三分之二或148名国会议员的通过。伊斯兰党只有获得国阵的支持才能通过,上个星期四,国阵支持伊斯兰党提呈伊刑法法案,以在下一个国会会议辩论。

巫统蔑视马华、无视马华存在一事,马华部长拿督斯里黄家泉也证实及投诉副首相拿督斯里阿末扎希曾经在内阁会议中,询问阁员有关伊斯兰刑事法一事,而内阁成员也不同意有关的想法。

更糟糕的是,当国阵在没有预先知会马华、民政或国大党,而支持伊斯兰党哈迪阿旺的伊邢法私人法案爬头时,马华在巫统食言、没有遵从内阁不同意的意愿后,一点也不敢抗议。自哈迪的伊邢法私人法案在国会提呈并获得巫统的支持之后,内阁已经有两次的会议,然而,印度国大党、民政或马华投诉指他们未被告知一事,也没有在会议上提起。很明显的,完全没有一个马华、国大党或民政党的部长敢在接下来的2次内阁会议上,提出被背叛的抗议。

难怪巫统挑战马华、民政、或国大党不必劳师动众的威胁要辞职,干脆直接现在辞职而不是之后。上周五马华吉打州副主席及州行政议员拿督梁荣光宣布退出马华以抗议巫统支持哈迪的伊刑法,然而昨天他又收回他退党的决定,这只会让人看到马华很明显在作秀。马华无视于被国阵背叛,仍继续留在国阵一切只是为了谋求他们的部长职位。
巫统支持者不只嘲笑马华的辞职威胁,还直接挑战马华立刻辞掉他们的部长职位及退出国阵,因为就像拿督梁荣光一样,到最后马华根本不会这么做。马华、国大党及民政党领袖辞职的威胁将不会发生,他们会向第13届大选前承诺若大选惨败将不入内阁一样出尔反尔,诸多借口食言。

为了转移视线,不让人注意到他们没有原则的举动,马华曾经怪罪行动党,叫我们退出雪兰莪州政府。雪州政府并没有提呈任何伊刑法法案,为什么行动党要退出雪州政府? 现在是国阵让哈迪的伊刑法法案优先在国会提呈,不是行动党。马华、国大党及民政党才应该马上退过国阵,以证明他们反对哈迪伊刑法的原则立场。

即便是哈迪德法案只会影响穆斯林,它也将在联邦宪法非常核心的个人及身份上冲击者每一个非穆斯林。 因此,哈迪攻击行动党多事“鸡婆”反对这项只影响穆斯林的法案,哈迪可错了,连前首相敦马哈迪也形容这项法案是不公不义且非真的属于伊斯兰应有的法案。哈迪必须明白非穆斯林真正恐惧的是未来当伊斯兰法规与宪法保障的世俗法产生冲突的时候,他们所拥有的宪法权力遭到逐步侵蚀。

任何实施类似伊刑法的议程,无论是局部或完全执行,甚至是增加伊斯兰法庭的权力都必须在国会经过3分之2多数通过修宪才可以进行,而不是像哈迪这项类似伊刑法一样作为私人法案,因为私人法案只要简单多数就能轻易通过。行动党重申,我们没有反伊斯兰,但反对伊刑法,因为它违反联邦宪法。一个国家不可以同时拥有一套民事法及一套宗教法的两套刑事司法正义。
